Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Hazinova app and hazinova.app, operated by Tamalaki Business Network Ltd, Upland House, Eastern Bypass, Nairobi, Kenya ("Hazinova", "we"). Contact: hello@hazinova.app. By using Hazinova you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account

You need an account to record and share stories. Keep your sign-in email secure. You must be old enough to agree to these Terms in your country, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

2. Your stories and consent

You keep ownership of the stories, recordings and photos you upload.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, play, translate and display your content only to the audience you choose, and to show public stories on hazinova.app and in link previews. This ends when you delete the content, except for copies others have already legitimately saved or that we must keep by law.
You confirm you have the consent of everyone whose voice, likeness or story you share, and the right to share any third-party material.
We won't use your content to train AI models unless you opt in.

3. Groups and kaitiaki

Family and community groups decide who can hear their stories. A kaitiaki (story keeper) can approve, restrict or remove stories in their group, including indigenous or sacred knowledge. Invite links are personal; don't share them publicly.

Indigenous content

Content marked as Indigenous belongs to its community. It isn't used for AI or public previews unless the community opts in, and its guardians may restrict or remove it.

4. Acceptable use

Don't upload content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, or that infringes others' rights or privacy, and don't misuse or disrupt the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Reports and My Side stories

You can report any story, reply or account. "My Side" stories are reviewed before they can go public. Don't use them to harass or defame anyone. People identified in a My Side story may request a right of reply, a correction or removal, and we will consider it fairly.

5. Tips and payments

Listeners may send tips to storytellers. Tips are processed by Paystack under its own terms. Subscriptions, such as Family Vault, may also be processed by Flutterwave, Stripe, or app-store billing through Apple, Google and RevenueCat.
Tips are processed by Paystack. The storyteller receives 65% of each tip and Hazinova keeps 35% as a platform fee, before any payment processing costs shown at checkout. The amounts are shown before you confirm. Tips are voluntary and generally non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or in the case of error or fraud.
Storytellers are responsible for any taxes on what they receive.

6. Our service

We may change, suspend or end features. We provide Hazinova "as is" and, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law in your country.

7. Ending your account

You can export your data or delete your account at any time in Settings. If you are the only guardian of a community group, you'll be asked to hand it over first.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

9. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without removing any mandatory protections of the country where you live. We'll try to resolve any complaint informally first: write to hello@hazinova.app.

10. Changes

We'll give notice of material changes before they take effect.
